Challenge
At any point, up to 10% of air freight cargo pods (ULDs) are considered missing. The airline is then responsible for replacing these pods, as well as tracking down the original pods to return the cargo to its owners, creating inefficiencies at significant costs.
Approach
Aventus supports our partners in deploying IoT devices into ULDs and represents the digital identity of these IoT devices on the blockchain, by using decentralised identities and verified credentials.
Results
There are two core benefits:
Security: there is no central point of failure to attack if the system is compromised.
Scalability: the volume of requests in these ecosystems is huge. Having a decentralised architecture managing these identities means that the number of requests the system can handle is far more scalable.
