A Royal Jubilee is a rare occasion – and a Platinum Jubilee is even rarer.
To commemorate what, for most of us, is probably a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence, global leading art consultancy West Contemporary is partnering with enterprise-grade whitelabel NFT platform VereNFT-powered Aficionodos to release 70 unique NFTs of The Platinum Queen – a piece created by Carne Griffiths, one of the foremost contemporary British painters of the generation.
VereNFT is powered by the Aventus Network. By leveraging the Aventus Network’s benefits, VereNFT marketplaces are interoperable with Ethereum, Polkadot and more, allowing businesses to build their NFT presence on a future-proof platform, that is also green and scalable. NFTs can be minted at a cost of £0.05 at 0.02KwH each with high scalability and low latency.
The NFTs will be available on 27 June.
Ahead of this, physical portraits based on the artwork will be released for sale earlier in the month on the Jubilee Weekend.
While the original painting sold for £25,000 at the Anderson Foundation Christmas multi-charity auction last year, the prints will sell for £1,550 each, with £150 of each sale going to Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital Charity. They will be printed at Jealous Gallery, a London print house with close ties to the Royal Academy and The V&A, and will each be hand finished by Carne Griffiths, making each a completely unique artwork.
